Community Groups

Friends of Gawler Library

The Friends of the Gawler Library are a group of people from the community who share a common interest in supporting, extending and promoting the services of the Library (and having a bit of fun at the same time).
The Friends source funding primarily through regular book sales of excess library and donated books (held three to four times a year dependent on availability of books) and the sale of Library bags. The funds support Library and community programs (holiday programs and writing competitions) and additional small equipment purchases for the library.
The Friends also support library staff by volunteering at the library in programs such as choosing and delivering books to housebound community members. New members are always welcomed.
You can read and print a copy of their brochure with membership details here
To contact the Friends Group phone the Library on 8522 9213 or email library@gawler.sa.gov.au
